Leone Ellen Kaster, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was 83. 

Born on June 15, 1938 to the late Gordon and Marie (nee Eskrick) Farrell. Leone taught school for 35 years, starting in a one room school house at the age of 17. She was also very active in her community for many years, serving with many different organizations. Her love of gardening was evident in her flower and vegetable gardens. Leone took great interest in every aspect of her children and grandchildren’s lives. She was loyal and committed to everyone and everything she was a part of. A lifelong member of the church, her kindness and loving soul reflected on how she lived her life. 

Survived by daughter Kim Hallman (Carl Huber) of Hanover and son Greg (Debbie) Kaster of Stayner. Special grandmother of Nicole (Matt), Timothy (Cassidy) and Jordan (Colin), and great grandmother of Henry and her special grand-dog ‘Cooper’. Fondly remembered by her loving friend William Krepps of Mount Forest, sister Elaine Moffatt of Walkerton, and brothers and sisters-in-law John & Brenda Kaster, Margaret Rossignol, Ruth Rosevear, Mary Kaster and Art &Janice Kaster as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Richard in 2015, her parents, father and mother in-law Clarence and Marjorie Kaster, brother Dale. 

To honour Leone’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services, and a Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.  Cremation has taken place, with inurnment to follow in Hanover Cemetery. A come and go Celebration of Life will be held at the Hanover Legion on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 1-3 pm – all are welcome. 

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the emergency staff at the Hanover & District Hospital for the amazing care and kindness that was shown to Leone.
