Carol Anne Dey, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, January 23, 2026. She was 82.
Born in Listowel on April 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel (Campbell) Willis. Carol will be remembered for her warm smile and generous nature, always showing genuine care for others. A hardworking and independent woman, she co-owned and operated a local business for many years. Later, she excelled in sales at Smitty’s Fine Furniture, where she earned the respect of her community through her strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
Even after stepping back from her professional life, her desire to contribute never waned. Carol dedicated her time to volunteering at the local hospital and supporting various community agencies. Her compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Carol is survived by her daughter Patti Donovan (Dwayne Hutchinson) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her sons Daniel Dey of Hanover, and David (Sonya) Dey of Cambridge. She was a loving grandmother to Jessica, Jacob Dey (Madelyn McKitterick), Chase (Mia Torres), and Cruz Donovan, and a great grandmother to Elexus, Harper, Hayden and Colton. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Linda) Willis of London, as well as nieces, nephews, and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Dey, and her sisters Joyce (Bob) Nickel and Cathy (Bob) Hilson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Carol’s life at Mighton Funeral Home on Friday, May 8th, 2026 at 11am.  Inurnment will follow at Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.Â
